Dirt Dynamics LLC specializes in complete motocross track design and development across Central Florida. Our experienced operators understand the unique requirements of MX track construction, from proper drainage to jump construction and berming.
We work with you to design tracks that match your skill level, available space, and riding style. Our designs consider safety, flow, and maintenance requirements.
From initial land clearing to final track preparation, we handle every aspect of construction including jumps, whoops, berms, and proper drainage systems.
Proper soil preparation is crucial for track longevity. We analyze soil conditions, ensure proper drainage, and create the ideal base for your motocross track.
We provide maintenance services to keep your track in optimal condition, including regrading, jump repair, and seasonal preparation work.
Every motocross track we build follows the same design process we've refined across dozens of Florida builds. It keeps the track rideable, the budget predictable, and the schedule honest.
1. Site walk and soil read. We walk the parcel with you, probe soil at 6–8 points, identify the seasonal high water line, and check setbacks and noise exposure to neighbors. What you can actually build depends on all four.
2. Flow-first layout. Good tracks let a rider stay on the gas through 80% of the lap. Corners set up straights. Jumps land into banked turns. We sketch the loop to match your parcel shape and your skill level before we ever think about features.
3. Feature design. Berms, jumps, rhythm sections, whoops, step-ups, tabletops — each one sized to the class of bike and the rider's experience. We design the first jump smaller than the rider's confidence; everything scales from there.
4. Drainage engineering. Every surface gets a drainage plan before we cut the first lift. Crown, swale, outfall, retention. No exceptions in Florida.
5. Construction, settle, re-shape. Build the track, let it sit through one rain cycle, then do a re-shape pass before the first laps. Skipping the settle step is the most common mistake in Florida track construction.
We build motocross tracks across the full range — size, budget, rider experience, and purpose vary widely, and the design has to match.
Private practice tracks. 3–5 acres, 30–45 second lap, moderate features, built for the owner and a small crew of friends. Budget range $15,000–$45,000. Most common build we do.
Family backyard tracks. 5–10 acres, 45–60 second lap, two or three jump sections, beginner-to-intermediate geometry. Often includes a pee-wee loop for younger riders. Budget $45,000–$120,000.
Training and coaching facilities. 10+ acres, multiple track layouts, rhythm sections, timing gates, spectator areas. Engineered drainage becomes mandatory at this size. Budget $150,000+.
Competition and supercross-style tracks. Fully engineered, permitted, with measured jump geometry, parking, restrooms, and commercial zoning. Budget $300,000–$1M+ depending on features and infrastructure.
Dirt bike trails and enduro loops. Not technically motocross, but closely related. We design and cut trails through wooded acreage for single-track riding — lower-impact clearing and no engineered jumps.
The geometry of berms and jumps is what separates a track that rides well from one that punishes riders. We build to proven numbers, not guesses.
Berm radius: 22–30 feet centerline for 250F class bikes, 28–36 feet for 450s. Under 18 feet is sharp enough to make the bike push wide. Banking at 45–60° on most berms, steeper on bowl-turns that need to hold speed.
Jump faces: takeoff at 28–35° for doubles, 22–28° for tabletops. Landing ramps are 5–10° steeper than takeoff to absorb the impact. Kickers on takeoff change the trajectory and are risky unless intentional.
Gap distances: first-jump gap sized to the rider's confidence on that bike. Progression through the rest of the track scales up. The first jump should feel easy; the last should feel like a milestone.
Safety: wide landings, clear run-outs, no bailout-into-trees, no jump into uphill terrain, berms on every corner after a jump. Helmets and gear go without saying; the design has to do its share.

Florida soils drop into three buckets for track construction. Sandy upland soil is great — drains fast, compacts with water, holds shape once finished. Clay-rich transitional soil is moderate — holds shape but needs more water management. Muck or organic lowland is unusable — we excavate it and bring in structural fill.
Drainage is the difference between a year-round track and a once-a-month track. The design minimums we hold to: 2% cross-slope on straights, crowned corners, 12-inch swales along shoulders, water routed to retention or existing low spot 25+ feet off the track, riprap on every outfall, emergency overflow for 100-year storm events. On larger facilities we run the drainage through an engineer for a stamped plan.
We also plan for post-storm recovery. After a tropical storm or hurricane, a properly drained track loses maybe 10% of its shape. A poorly drained track has to be rebuilt.
A Florida motocross track that isn't maintained dies in 6–8 weeks of active use. Berms slump, jump faces round off, drainage fills with silt. Our maintenance packages cover private and family tracks with a fixed monthly scope.
Budget 10–15 hours per month of contracted maintenance for a 5-acre track in active use; 20–30 hours for a larger facility.

A private practice track on cleared ground runs $15,000–$45,000. A full backyard track with two or three jump sections and proper drainage runs $45,000–$120,000. Competition-grade facilities with multiple rhythm sections and engineered drainage start around $150,000. Cost depends on acreage, jump count, drainage complexity, and site access.
A professional motocross track builder handles site walk and soil reads, track layout and flow design, permit coordination, clearing and grubbing, earthwork for berms and jumps, drainage engineering, surface compaction, jump face shaping, and maintenance scheduling. The best MX track builders come out of the seat — we've ridden, shaped, and repaired tracks for 20+ years.
Berm radius matches the class of bike — 22–30 feet centerline for 250F, larger for 450s. Berms run 3–5 feet above track surface at 45–60° banking. Jump faces take off at 28–35° for doubles, 22–28° for tabletops; landing ramps are 5–10° steeper than takeoff. Jump geometry comes from measured riding data, not guesses.
Florida gets 50+ inches of rain a year concentrated in summer thunderstorms. Without engineered drainage a track turns into soup within 24 hours of a storm. Every design we deliver crowns the track surface at 2%+, runs swales along shoulders, routes water to retention 25+ feet off the track, and armors outfalls with riprap.
A site walk to read the parcel, soil probe to confirm the design will work, a preliminary track layout drawing, a cost range for construction, and advice on permits, noise mitigation, neighbor setbacks, and post-build maintenance. Consultations start free on-site for Central Florida. Remote consultations for out-of-area clients are fee-based.
